ManageDesk

Interface

Process Viewer

This is used for the management of processes. A process is an active program, for instance, Internet Explorer or the service of the operating system. In the Process Viewer box you can sort processes, change their priority or close the "dead" ones.

You should realise that you can "hang" the operation system by changing priority or killing some critical processes. However using this function you can end the "hang" (not responding) program, but all the data will most likely be lost.

Different priorities of processes are shown in different colours: blue means the lowest priority, green - normal priority and red – the real-time priority. Giving a high priority for the program makes it work faster but leaves less CPU resources for other programs and for the operating system. Thus, it can result in the decreasing of the overall system performance instead of speeding it up.

DLL Viewer

This tab gives you an opportunity to view all processes and DLLs loaded by them. Their paths and sizes are also shown.
