Desktop manager
Desktop manager tab is used for the main ManageDesk settings and your work organization. It appears when you click with the left mouse button on the "Desktop manager" item in the main program menu (fig. 4).
Desktop manager is the main tool for windows' managing. Here you can transfer windows between virtual desktops, close, hide and make them transparent. You also can release memory of the currently not needed programs using this tab.

How to transfer windows between desktops
Press the left mouse button over the chosen window, drag it onto the desired desktop, and release the button. The window will be immediately transferred to this desktop.
"All desktops" item makes the window visible on all desktops. It is useful for programs, you need permanently.

Context menu description
When you click on the window or on the desktop title with the right mouse button, the context menu, appears. You can set various settings for opened programs and windows here. They can be closed, hidden or made transparent. These operations can be either applied to a single window and program or to the group of ones. In addition, you can release memory of active programs, restore previously hidden or lost windows and make windows visible on all desktops.
Click with the right mouse button over the window title to display the context menu for the selected window (fig. 3). When you click the desktop item, the menu for the desktop appears (fig. 4). Using it all the programs and windows on the selected desktop can be managed at once.

| Close window (Close desktop windows) |
Closes the window or the group of windows. If the window is on another desktop and it is impossible to close it, it will be shown and automatically transferred to the current desktop. |
| Hide window (Hide desktop windows) |
Hides the window or the group of windows, from the current desktop. They can be restored using "Restore Windows" item. |
| Release window memory |
This releases memory of the program or of the group of programs. It is the way of making the needed programs work faster by giving them more memory. |
| Restore Windows |
Restores previously hidden or lost windows. This function is active even after restarting ManageDesk. For example, if you've been working with a few programs, which were allocated on the virtual desktops. Then ManageDesk has failed for some reasons and you've lost some of your works. To solve this problem you should reload it and use "Restore windows" function. All the windows, which you have been using, will be found and restored. You will continue your work seamlessly. |
| Make transparent (Make all windows transparent) |
This item makes the window or the group of windows partially or totally transparent. If you click this item, the box, in which you will can enter the degree of transparency, will appear. The transparency degree can range from 0 (totally opaque) to 255 (totally transparent). This function may be useful when you're working with graphic applications and want to make a copy of some scheme. You can make the destination document partially transparent, put it over the source one and paint dot-by-dot, looking at the source. |
| Refresh desktops |
Refreshes and repaints all windows on the current desktop. |
